LifePath Unlimited is a home-based business opportunity that sells personal development, prosperity, and success oriented books, DVDs, and seminars.  Founded in 2006 by Joe Neid, Dave Mackenzie, and Patrick Combs, this company offers to provide a positive, life-changing difference for their clients.  They offer three main products: the Discovery Series, the BreakThrough Event, and the Destiny Event.  The Discovery Series is the flagship product and includes CDs, DVDs, a journal, and other materials on personal enlightenment and inspiration ($1695).  The BreakThrough Event is an interactive 3-day conference at a resort that includes several speakers on these same topics and culminates with a fire-walk ($8995 for two, not including airfare).  Finally, the Destiny Event is another interactive, lavish 5-day conference at an exotic locale that teaches more of the same empowering personal development messages ($14,995 for two, not including airfare).

The Program and Compensation

For $97 you can join LifePath Unlimited and start selling their products.  For this amount you receive a Getting Started kit, access to training, support, and back-office, and a replicated landing page.  However you will need to purchase the three main products to make the commissions payable on selling them, or pass up your first five sales to your up-line.  These are substantial commissions since the products are costly.

Analysis

The personal development market is thriving and these products will undoubtedly encourage you to grow personally in several areas.  But as a business opportunity this company has major challenges to overcome.  The first being the cost of the products it markets.  While the Discovery Series may be less than $1,700 for some decent materials, the other two conferences seem over-priced for the payoff.  For example, LifePath’s 3-day conference at $8,995 looks very costly compared to a Tony Robbins (arguably the most famous motivational speaker in the world) 4-day event — complete with fire-walk — for less than $800.  And for the $14,995 conference you might hope to see a Robbins, a Zig Ziglar, or a Stephen Covey perhaps?  While the 14 speakers are noted in their relative fields, these luminaries are not among them.  Why is this important?  Because to earn the huge commissions, you will need to sell these expensive conferences to others.  Secondly, the market for these products just does not stand alone aside from the business opportunity attached.  The average person will not spend this amount of money on personal development.  So if you are passionate about motivational and prosperity products and have a strong sales background, LifePath Unlimited might be the opportunity for you.  If, however, you are looking for a proven marketing system, a price-point more in line with the average consumer, and a sought-after product that creates value for the end user, you should continue your research to find the right fit for you.
